What is the Right of Withdrawal?

European Union law requires online businesses to accept cancellations starting from when the order was placed up to 14 days after delivery. You can learn more on Europa.eu.

In simple terms, private individuals who buy from a business online have the legal right to withdraw from the sale starting from when the sale was made and lasting until 14 days after the item is delivered. If they choose to withdraw, they are required to return the shipment and cover any associated shipping costs for the return. On Cardmarket, this applies when:

• The shipment is between a private buyer and a professional seller.
• The buyer’s or the seller’s Cardmarket address is in the EU.
• The shipment is in one of the following states: unpaid, paid, sent, or arrived (up to 14 days after delivery).

When a buyer uses their right of withdrawal, they can then return/cancel all or part of their shipment. If they choose to return/cancel the full shipment, the shipment is moved to the canceled status. Otherwise, the shipment is processed normally with the returned/canceled items indicated on the shipment page.

The seller is then responsible for coordinating the return and refunding the full value of the returned items, including shipping if applicable. This refund should only be made after the return shipment has been postmarked.

This requirement has been in effect in the European Union since 2014.
